Our apProach

Intervene early:

We know that early intervention is essential to human development, especially for orphans and other highly vulnerable children. We utilize our Nursery School to start building capacities of children at one of their most critical developmental stages.

Holistic, quality programming:

We know that for vulnerable children to succeed, the whole family needs support. Our holistic education and support initiatives creates a safety net for vulnerable children and families in one of Africa’s largest urban slums. This includes education and early childhood development, nutrition, child protection, parent education , family economic strengthening, and referrals to health and other services.

Identify the most vulnerable:

Among the many vulnerable families in Kibera, we work to identify the most vulnerable children for admission into our programs. This includes children who have been orphaned, those experiencing abuse and neglect, and those in single headed households. We are committed to giving these children multiple opportunities to succeed. This approach sets us apart.

Deep and lasting engagement with families:

We ‘walk with’ our families over a long period helping them overcome challenges as they arise. This means working with individuals from childhood to adulthood and across generations. Because of this longevity, we have become a trusted and critical resource within our community

Our Programs

We design all of our programs to fit together to allow our students & their families to have the best opportunities and resources to unlock their full potential.
